Brisbane Porsche Rebuild

1976 Porsche Rebuild

We met a customer who had recently purchased a 1976 Porsche SC. It had been driven on a track and had gone sideways and “kissed” a wall. The customer wanted to rebuild the Porsche and make it something more personal. He wanted to add some personal touches to the car. He wanted to paint the car silver, as he had seen some photos of similar cars.

Once we received the car into the workshop, and started to pull the car apart, we realised that the factory colour was called Minerva Blue – which is a special ordered colour back in the day. We sprayed a colour card for the client to show him the colour, as we felt the blue would have more impact, and is not a colour you would see on the road today. Once the client had seen the blue, he too fell in love with it, and Minerva Blue it was!

The Porsche Body Rebuild

Now that the colour was selected, the boys could get to work to get the body rebuilt. The customer had purchased some panels to be used, so we installed these as per the customer request. He was after the 930 look with the wide body guards and flares welded in. Being that it was a colour change, we had to respray the engine bay and luggage compartment and then prep the body to paint the beautiful colour on the exterior.

The customer loved the colour and gets compliments all the time and since working on the rebuild he has added a new motor and running gear. The customer has since booked back in for more upgrades including a roll cage and other personalised touches on the car.
You may just see this car driving around Brisbane!  It is a great example of a Porsche Rebuild that is true to the original car but with enhancements to meet the owners needs.
